Who we are

A consultancy that acts before problems become expensive

Incorporated in 2017 and based in Morley, Leeds, The Proactive Group Limited provides practical consulting and advisory support to businesses across the United Kingdom.

Our name reflects our method. Rather than reacting to issues after they surface, we help clients identify weaknesses early, strengthen the way they operate, and plan ahead with confidence. The result is a business that spends less time firefighting and more time moving forward.

Learn more about us

What working with us looks like

  • A senior point of contact from first call to final review
  • Recommendations you can act on, not shelf-ware reports
  • Clear scopes, clear pricing, clear timelines
  • Honest advice — including when not to spend money

Why choose us

Grounded in Yorkshire, focused on results

Proactive by design

We look for the problems that haven't happened yet. Early diagnosis costs a fraction of late repair, and it is the discipline our entire approach is built around.

Practical, not theoretical

Every recommendation we make has to survive contact with a real workshop floor, warehouse, ward or office. If it can't be implemented, we don't propose it.

Independent advice

We are not tied to software vendors, resellers or referral fees. The only interest we serve when making a recommendation is yours.

Our approach

Understand first. Recommend second. Support throughout.

Consulting fails when advice arrives before understanding does. We begin every engagement by listening — to owners, managers and the people doing the work — and by looking at the numbers behind the story.

Only then do we shape recommendations, and we stay involved while they are put into practice. A plan that isn't implemented is just a document; our job is finished when the improvement is real.

  • Evidence over opinion. We work from your data, your processes and your people's experience.
  • Proportionate solutions. A small business doesn't need enterprise machinery — it needs the right fix at the right scale.
  • Knowledge transfer. We aim to leave your team more capable than we found it, not dependent on us.
  • Measured outcomes. Every engagement is anchored to indicators agreed at the start.

Our journey

Steady growth, the same standards

  1. 2017

The Proactive Group Limited is incorporated on 5 December as a private limited company in England, founded on the idea that good advice should prevent problems, not just explain them afterwards.

  2. 2019

The service range broadens from core business consulting into structured operational improvement and project delivery support.

  3. 2021

Remote and hybrid engagement models are formalised, allowing the firm to support clients across the UK without losing the directness of face-to-face work.

  4. 2023

Risk management and performance optimisation become dedicated practice areas in response to growing client demand.

  5. Today

Operating from Hawthorne Court in Morley, Leeds, the firm supports organisations across eight industries with the same principle it started with: act early, act on evidence.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What size of business do you work with?

We work with organisations of many sizes, from owner-managed SMEs to larger established businesses. Our recommendations are always scaled to what is proportionate and affordable for you.

Do you only work with businesses in Leeds and Yorkshire?

No. We are based in Morley, Leeds, and much of our work is regional, but we support clients across the United Kingdom through a mix of on-site and remote engagement.

How are your engagements priced?

Most work is scoped as a fixed-fee project so you know the cost before we begin. Ongoing advisory support is available on a retained basis. There are no hidden extras.

How long does a typical engagement take?

A focused diagnostic review can take two to four weeks. Larger improvement or strategy programmes typically run for two to six months. We agree timelines at the outset and report progress against them.

What happens after I contact you?

We arrange an initial conversation, without charge or obligation, to understand your situation. If we believe we can add value, we set out a written proposal with scope, deliverables, timeline and fee.

Ready to get ahead of the curve?

Book a no-obligation consultation and find out where your biggest opportunities for improvement are.
